U.S Tour Coming to SoCal
February 28th, 2025 by Jimmy Alvarez
“I’ve got a secret, and I can’t explain all the time I’ve waited for this day.” More prophetic words have never been said from a song, but what can we say, OMD’s music has been a part of our lives for decades and now, we get to see them live in June!
Sadly, we got the news not long that they had to postpone their tour at the end of 2024 due to health issues. Now, we are on target to see this magnificent duo in June.

Technically, the band is known as Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, a band formed in England back in 1978.

These icons of music created a style of music that was larger than life.
The duo of Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys brought electro-synth-pop and new wave to the front and center of all that was the music world with songs like “Electricity,” “Enola Gay,” and “Telegraph.”
In 1985, “Crush” was released and it blew up with “So In Love,” “Secret,” “La Femme Accident,” and “If You Leave.”
Thanks to John Hughes’ feature film, “Pretty in Pink,” OMD became an international household name with the aforementioned “If You Leave.”

The song was featured in the iconic and critically acclaimed 1986 movie that made mega-stars of Andrew McCarthy, Jon Cryer, and Molly Ringwald.
The band went on to create a crazy catalog of insanely cool tunes with “Tesla Girls,” “Locomotion,” “(Forever) Live and Die,” “Joan of Arc (Maid of Orleans),” “We Love You,” “Dreaming,” and “Pandora’s Box.”
There are so many songs that mean the world to so many of their fans worldwide, and all for different reasons. What’s cool about OMD, because of the size of their catalog, there is always a good chance you will hear more than one of your favorite songs on their upcoming U.S. tour!

We may even get some music off their latest album, “Bauhaus Staircase.”
The legends will be joining other legends Cruel World 2025 at Brookside at the Rose Bowl on May 17th.

In addition to Cruel World, don’t miss out on an opportunity to see living legends onstage, two nights at the Balboa Theatre in San Diego on June 17th and 18th.
Locally, they will play two nights at The Greek Theatre on June 20th and 21st. Trust me, it will be an incredible show, and this will be a tour we be talking about for some time.
