Beck and Phoenix are making summer last even longer with their Summer Odyssey Tour, and they will bring a rotating cast of characters with them. The tour kicks off August 1st in Seattle, and along its route, SoCal gets three dates, the iconic Red Rocks has two nights, and then the whole thing closes out in Washington, D.C. in September. Giving support will be Weyes Blood, Sir Chloe, Jenny Lewis, and Japanese Breakfast, depending on date.
While we fell in love with Beck during his “Loser” era, he continues to pump out awesome songs. His concerts are often stacked with a hefty setlist, so fans can expect to hear several faves including “Devils Haircut,” “The New Pollution,” “E-Pro,” “Nausea,” “Girl,” “Hotwax,” “Mixed Bizness,” “Earthquake Weather,” “Black Tambourine,” and “Where It’s At.”
Since Beck dropped his “Hyperspace” album in 2019, we’ve heard his cover of Neil Young’s “Old Man” (which earned him a Grammy nom) and a new song, “Thinking About You.” Will we see new album from the Los Angeles singer/songwriter soon?
French pop rockers Phoenix released their COVID baby last year, aka the album “Alpha Zulu.” The album has done incredibly well for them on the adult alternative charts with the title track, “Identical,” and “Tonight.” In addition to those new songs, fans can expect to hear “After Midnight,” “Too Young,” “Girlfriend,” “Funky Squaredance,” “Trying to Be Cool / Drakkar Noir,” and “1901” on these tour dates.
Look for Beck and Phoenix August 7th in Los Angeles at Kia Forum with Jenny Lewis and Sir Chloe; on August 8th in San Diego at Viejas Arena with Japanese Breakfast and Sir Chloe; and on August 9th in Costa Mesa at OC Fair.
