Walk Around The Moon Tour

May 3, 2023 by M.B. Edwards
After finishing a trio of dates in Mexico, Dave Matthews Band (DMB) will start their US summer Walk Around the Moon tour which coincides with the release of their 10th studio album of the same name. The tour kicks off in May in Texas, and runs through September 3rd where it will conclude in Washington as part of their annual three-day, Labor Day event.
Many of the songs from the “Walk Around the Moon” album have already been played in public or released. While “Monsters,” the second single, was only recently released, “Madman’s Eyes,” the first single, came out in January with a revved up, yet traditional, DMB feel and a bit of Middle Eastern influence.

With over three decades of stardom, the Dave Matthews Band has a track record of knowing what their fans love and want, keeping the setlists changing at each show, and staying connected to the audience. It’s no wonder their shows are so amazing and create lifetime memories for so many fans.
The thrill really comes from when an entire crowd sings along with DMB during a chorus or a fan loses all control of their emotions when they hear the first few notes of their favorite DMB song like “Ants Marching,” “Crash Into Me,” “So Much to Say,” “Too Much,” “Tripping Billies,” “The Space Between,” “You & Me,” or “Don’t Drink the Water.”

Dave Matthews still sounds incredible; his husky at times voice is still strong and powerful. Carter Beauford, one of the rare left-handed drummers, has a fan group all of his own and it’s no wonder with his insane drum skills that allow him to lead with both hands. He’s often listed as one of the best drummers around.
Bassist Stefan Lessard has his own energy and likes to push the musical boundaries of the base. Matthews, Beauford, and Lessard have been with the band since its inception in 1991. The remaining four members of the seven-member band include Tim Reynolds (lead guitar), Jeff Coffin (sax), Rashawn Ross (trumpet), and Buddy Strong (keyboards).
In addition to their loyal fan following, the band has continued to win over critics and collect awards. They scored a Grammy for Best Rock Vocal Performance for “So Much to Say,” and for two years in a row, they won the VH1 Music Awards for Favorite Group. They are also the first band to have seven debut albums consecutively peak on the Billboard 200.
