Southern California punk rock legends Descendents posted across their social media accounts at 7:00 a.m. PST that they were cancelling their upcoming European dates as lead singer, Milo Aukerman suffered “a mild heart attack.”
As of right now, no further details have been provided other than he underwent surgery, “He’s doing fine” and is expected to make a full recovery.
Best known for their high-energy performances, Descendents are an institution in the work of punk rock with hits like “Bikeage,” “I’m the One,” and “Clean Sheets” are just a few fan favorites from their larger-than-life punkadelic catalog.

As you can imagine, the band announced they will need a few weeks before they can resume touring again. The band was scheduled to headline the Barna’n’Roll Warm Up show in Barcelona, Spain tonight.
No announcement has been made yet from Barna’n’Roll about the show’s lineup. An outpouring of well wishes have already started rolling in from around the world. Fans are hoping for a speedy recovery from one of the true icons in the business.
Milo Goes to ER
This will be just the fifth time in the band’s 40-year history that they’ve had to cancel shows. Just a week ago, guitarist Stephen Egerton, bassist Karl Alvarez, and drummer Bill Stevenson were unable to make their flight due to severe thunderstorms in Denver.
As such, the band had to cancel their headlining set at Festival des Bières du Monde in Chicoutimi, Quebec. Being the only one that was able to make it to Quebec, Aukerman went ahead and still played a solo set of Descendents songs as he played guitar and sang. He was then joined onstage by Face to Face as his backing band for half a dozen Descendents songs and a final encore of “Disconnected.”
The band’s next Southern California date is November 5th as part of the two-day Punk in the Park Festival.
We hope to see Milo back in full form and rocking along with Karl, Stephen, and Bill.
