Dust off your Energy Domes! DEVO has just announced they will play two headline shows in the US this year, one of which will be held at Hollywood Park’s new venue, Performance Venue.
There are so many great bands ready to take the stage, but DEVO still holds a special place in the hearts of so many music fans, especially in Southern California.
As much as we loved last year’s virtual DEVOtional convention, we are so ready to see them in person.
The legendary band will bring Mark Mothersbaugh (vocals, keyboards, guitar), Gerald Casale (bass, vocals, bass synthesizer), Bob Mothersbaugh (guitar, vocals), Josh Freese (drums), and Josh Hager (guitar, keyboards) back to our stage so we can enjoy “Mongoloid,” “Beautiful World,” “Peek-A-Boo,” “Uncontrollable Urge,” “The Day My Baby Gave Me a Surprize,” “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction,” “Freedom of Choice,” “Shout,” “That’s Good,” “Girl U Want,” “Secret Agent Man,” “Don’t Shoot, I’m a Man!,” and what is that tune? Oh yes, “Whip It!”
The list of uber-hits by this musical juggernaut goes on and on!
If you can’t catch them at Riot Fest or Punk Rock Bowling, the show will take place September 25th (if you want to pop over to see them in New York, that date is September 21st) and it will be among the first at Performance Venue. The 6,000-capacity theater is located under the same roof as Inglewood’s SoFi Stadium and is scheduled to open in September.
As of right now, if you miss them at this show, not to worry, you will be able to see Devo at the 2022 Cruel World Festival.
