DIRTY HEADS PLAY DEL MAR DRIVE-IN SHOW
September 28, 2020 by Jenni Lynne

After a COVID-19 summer of badass live stream concerts, the Dirty Heads entertained fans with a spectacular drive-in show with Concerts In Your Car in Del Mar last week (Friday, Sept. 25th).

The Del Mar County Fairgrounds was transformed into an epic hybrid concert experience, bringing together live music and the old school drive-in movie concept. The band played two shows for their screaming fans.

Fans stuffed into their cars and packed the venue for a chance to hear live music, possibly for the first time since the onset of the pandemic.
The 360 stage allowed for fans to experience the show, socially distanced, from all angles. Fans were able to set out chairs and blankets within their car space while wearing masks.
Duddy, Jared, and the stellar band brought all the good vibes for fans to the stage.
After spending the lock down playing each album in its entirety on live streams, the band put together a solid setlist and fantastic light show.

Playing fan favorites like My Sweet Summer, Lay Me Down, Medusa, and Sloth’s Revenge. While also showing off new songs like Bum Bum and Earthquake Weather, fans sang along and waved homemade lit up signs with album artwork and lyrics.
While concerts aren’t what we are used to, the drive-in experience is a truly great way to get your live music fix in while practicing social distancing. It was a great night to take in live music again. One might actually get spoiled by it even!
