With a little post on social media, Morrissey set fire to the internet by dropping a few more tour dates in the US. After spending some time on the west side, he is hitting the east and – FINALLY – the south!
Titled 40 Years of Morrissey, the latest batch of US dates include Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Washington D.C., and New York. All dates take place in October and no on sale date was listed.
Of course the post was met with the usual batch of “Will he actually perform?” jokes, but as someone currently living in Tennessee, I am going to will it into existence! The former front-man of The Smiths does have a reputation, but that’s part of the reason why we love him.
In November, he gave us “Rebels Without Applause,” which was to be the lead single from his upcoming album. However, the current track listing for the presently titled “Without Music the World Dies” album does not show it as an album song. Hopefully more shows means the album will see the light of day.
Morrissey’s recent shows have included a mix of solo and Smiths material, so fans can hope to hear “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before,” “Disappointed,” “Sing Your Life,” “Jack the Ripper,” “Everyday Is Like Sunday,” “Hairdresser On Fire,” “Girlfriend in a Coma,” “Piccadilly Palare,” “Tomorrow,” “The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get,” “Suedehead,” and “Sweet and Tender Hooligan.” But again, it’s Morrissey. Expect the unexpected.
As soon as on sale info is released, we will let you know!
