When members leave a band, we usually look to who will replace them and not the path that member will travel. This is a shame because so many great bands have come from members of other bands we already know and love.
One of these simplify fantastic bands we’re here today to tell you about for Rachael-O-Rama #22 is the band Hu3m3n. Hu3m3n (like, “Human”) consists of guitarist Wes Geer (from (Hed)pe, Korn, Sacred Sons, and founder of the nonprofit Rock to Recovery), bassist Clinton Calton (D.I.) singer Matthew Bartosch, and recently added on drums, the great Scott Underwood (from Train).
Using the way-back machine, you may remember Hu3m3n from Rachael-O-Rama #2 in September of 2020. We are SO excited to announce that on top of the YouTube releases they have been putting out during the pandemic, they now have a single coming out this Friday (June 4th) titled “Artificial.” We were able to speak with Wes Geer again about this new single, plus he gave us the lowdown on “Artificial” and other upcoming releases for Hu3m3n.

Hu3m3n has been teasing the “Artificial” release for a while now and we have been waiting with bated breath to get our ears on new material. Since everything they put out is completely amazing, this is leaving us always wanting more. And more we shall have because they will be releasing the single with a B-side on vinyl on a later date.
“Planetelex” will be their release after “Artificial,” but that’s all Geer would give us. He said that we will have to figure out what “Planetelex” is all about on our own, if it’s a cover, an original, the newest word to be added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, or a lacrosse term. Whatever the case may be, we are excited! Geer added that the band really poured their heart and soul into “Planetelex” and it should be released in the next few weeks (fingers crossed!).
Hu3m3n is releasing their new stuff on Frame Work Records, owned by Ryan Shuck (from Orgy, Adema, Julien-K and Dead by Sunrise with Chester Bennington) and Amir Derakh (also from Orgy, Dead by Sunrise, and Julien-K). They will also be releasing merchandise in the near future, which is good because we can’t wait to add a few rad band t-shirts to our always growing collection of awesome threads.
To celebrate the release of “Artificial,” on Saturday (June 5th), Hu3m3n will be holding an intimate, invite-only live performance. Check out their Instagram account to learn about their ticket giveaway and to watch the livestream of this performance, which will be filled with the who’s-who of music (not to toot our own horn, but we will be there to review the show, as well. TOOT-TOOT!).
Hu3m3n is going to be the next big thing. With the music knowledge in that band and supporting it, and with the angelic voice of lead singer Matthew Bartosch, the deep lyrics and soothing yet rocking beat, this band will be on the radio and touring the country in no time. Their profound and unique sound will have you reveling to their music.
To quote Wes Geer’s June 3rd Instagram post, “Time is such an illusion that keeps us from doing things we want because it will take too long, or will be too old, too young, it’s such a horrible element to factor into our decisions. If we are passionate about something, we should do it. Period. Because at the end of the day, things happen in the Universe’s timing not my timing… and it’s always better than my version.” Great food for thought, Wes!
