CHAIN FEST

October 15, 2021 by Traci Turner
One of the many shows postponed due to COVID is happening! Chain Fest will take place at FivePoint Amphitheatre in Irvine on October 23rd with Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday as headliners. The one-day festival also welcomes Circa Survive, Saves The Day, Anberlin, Cartel, Acceptance, and Envy on the Coast to the stage.
The show also marks the end of the joint tour for Jimmy Eat World and Taking Back Sunday. They have been working their way across the West Coast and both bands already have 2022 dates in Europe lined up.
Jimmy Eat World has been promoting their 2019 album, “Surviving.” Who knew the title would be so relatable when it was released in October, just months ahead of the pandemic? The band spent 2020 doing livestreams of the new album and previous records, then returned to live shows this year starting with Lollapalooza.
In addition to the dates with Jimmy Eat World, Taking Back Sunday has been doing multiple festivals, including Riot Fest. They will play their annual holiday shows in New Jersey in December, in case you are into holiday traditions.

Chain Fest is the lovechild of Chain Reaction, an Anaheim club where many of the bands on the bill got their start, and LiveNation. If you have tickets from the original date, they are still valid. If you need tickets, general admission seating and VIP are still available, but the general admission pit is sold out.
