Merry Christmas to us! Are you ready to spend the holidays with a band that is loud, fun, and totally unpredictable? Of course you are! Who exactly are these crazy madmen of the sonic highways? Why it’s Me First and the Gimme Gimmes.
This band of merry men are coming our way this December with a few friends and lots and lots of fans!
Best known for a plethora of great covers, the Gimmes have a multitude of hits that we love to love – no matter who you are, you just can’t turn away.
Since their formation back in 1995, this Bay-area group has evolved, changing out bandmates from time-to-time, but Spike Slawson remains the nucleus of the band
Since then, we have fallen in love with iconic re- deux’s like “I Believe I Can Fly,” “Wild World,” “Over the Rainbow,” “Rocket Man,” “Karma Chameleon,” “Uptown Girl,” “Nothing Compares 2U,” and so many more incredible punk covers from our favorite bands.
We’ll probably be treated to some crazy onstage antics, and be ready for the punk rock stylings of “Santa Baby.”
If history has any influence over these shows, it is very likely there will be a few other special surprises in store for us this December, so there’s that to look forward to.
You can catch Spike Slawson and the rest of the Gimmes December 1st at The Regent in Los Angeles, and on December 2nd they’ll be at the House of Blues Anaheim. Also, on December 3rd they will slide in at The Ventura Theatre.
Also joining the Gimmes will be everyone’s favorite Valley Girl, Josie Cotton, along with The Black Tones, and DJ Thirst N Howl.
Get your toboggan, candy canes, syrup and Christmas present and head on out to see these shows.
