It’s been a minute since we’ve received new music from Jack White, but now the wait is over! It’s been nearly 4 years to be exact, for his loyal fanbase, White has returned with “Taking Me Back”!
This one is more of a guitar hero type tune and early signs are it is well received by the faithful Jack White followers.
There are two versions, one for the harder rock fans, and one for … you know. That one is called “Taking Me Back (Gently),” it’s very different and very 20’s-esque. Give it a listen, you’ll see what I mean.
What seems to be more of a trend these days is White played all the instruments on this one. Just like Wolfgang Van Halen did in his freshman effort.
White recorded the song at his Third Man Studios in Nashville. Another trend, recording in Nashville, not sure if that’s a new thing, but it’s definitely a thing.
Leaving no stone unturned, White’s sonic vision has no limits. “Taking Me Back” was featured in the Call of Duty: Vanguard video game trailer. The new game takes off worldwide on November 5th, 2021.
There’s no word just yet on a follow-up to the single, you know… an album. For now, we get new Jack White and many of his fans and beyond are way OK with that.
Look for White opening other Third Man assets in London very soon. For now, we can enjoy some new tunes from the former White Stripes, Raconteurs crooner and music mogul.
