After putting out arguably their best album to date in 2019, Off With Their Heads returns to Southern California this weekend playing a trifecta of shows. The punk band originally hailing from Minneapolis played the Casbah in San Diego earlier this week in preparation for three Orange County shows.
The band released “Be Good” two years ago to critical praise, and it has, in my opinion, the best production and writing of their two-decade career. It was also the first album of new material since 2013’s popular “Home” LP.
The band is led by lead singer Ryan Young and drummer Kyle Manning, with a new guitarist and bassist. The tour has found the band traveling across the country beginning in October, and will conclude in mid-December in Chicago. For these last two weeks, Off With Their Heads will have Supercrush and Slingshot Dakota opening.
Friday night will see Off With Their Heads playing at Characters in Pomona, followed by Saturday at The Sardine in San Pedro. The weekend will end with a Sunday afternoon show beginning at 2 p.m. at Alex’s Bar in Long Beach where the bands will be joined by Upper Downer and The Pretty Flowers.
