If Darker Waves was not enough for you, more ‘80s goodness is headed your way. Peter Hook & The Light just announced a 2024 tour that will bring them to North America and have them playing albums from Joy Division and New Order in full.
The former bassist and founding member of New Order and Joy Division will play the “Substance” albums from 1987 and 1988. On the Joy Division side, home to “Transmission,” “Komakino,” “Warsaw,” “She’s Lost Control,” “Digital,” “Atmosphere,” and their mega hit, “Love Will Tear Us Apart.”
As for New Order, the album holds “Bizarre Love Triangle,” “True Faith,” “The Perfect Kiss,” “Shellshock,” “Temptation,” and the beloved classic, “Blue Monday.”
Upon announcing the tour, Hook said, “It still amazes me how enjoyable it is to play the Substance LPs. The contrast between Joy Division and New Order is very apparent but both complement each other very well.”
The North American leg will include 35 cities, starting off in Toronto in August, include stops in Boston, Chicago, Houston, and Dallas, before stopping in San Diego on September 16th at Humphreys Concerts By The Bay, then on September 20tn, a Los Angeles stop at Hollywood Palladium.
After visiting all corners of the US, Hook and crew will return to Europe for more UK dates.
