Legendary pop-reggae band UB40 is celebrating 45 years together by touring the US, and this Friday, they will perform at the newly re-named Peacock Theater. Apparently last year’s North American tour was such a blast, the guys had to come back across the pond for the big anniversary.

Having been to multiple UB40 shows, we can say it will be an amazing night of music and vibes. We fully expect to be dancing to “The Way You Do the Things You Do,” “Here I Am (Come and Take Me),” “Red Red Wine,” “If It Happens Again,” “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You,” “Cherry Oh Baby,” “Come Back Darling,” “Many Rivers to Cross,” “Champion” and “You Don’t Call Anymore.”
The Grammy-nominated band also plans to release a new album, “UB45.” The album will feature “new songs and reworked classics.” The album is set to land October 27th.

Guitarist and vocalist Robin Campbell said, “We love playing the U.S., and celebrating our 45th year and having a new album makes our return even more exciting.”
Along with Campbell, UB40 includes lead vocalist Matt Doyle, Jimmy Brown (drums), Earl Falconer (bass/vocals), Norman Lamont Hassan (percussion/vocals), Martin Meredith keys / WX7 / sax), Tony Mullings (keyboards), Laurence Parry (trumpet / flugal / trombone), Ian Thompson (sax), and Gilly G (Toaster/Rapper).

Friday’s show will be hosted by our favorite DJ, Richard Blade. The show will also include support from the Australian ‘80s wonders, Men at Work and everybody’s favorite All Stars, Smash Mouth.

If you are still scratching your head on the Peacock part, this week the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles was changed over to the Peacock Theater.
