One thing we have learned from nearly three decades of The Vandals: nothing can stop them from putting on their annual Christmas Formal show, not even a worldwide pandemic.
The Vandals celebrated their 25th straight Christmas Formal last year, albeit one that had to be streamed without a live audience for the first time ever due to safety restrictions. The live CD/DVD combo recorded last December was just released earlier this month.
Well, the boys and girls must have been awfully good this year because the Orange County punk band is returning to the House of Blues Anaheim to bring Christmas joy to one and all in what will be their 26th Christmas Formal.
Dave Quackenbush, Joe Escalante, and Warren Fitzgerald will be playing their holiday album, “Oi to the World” in its entirety, along with their most popular hits. It’s too soon to tell whether or not drummer Josh Freese will be there to play alongside his bandmates, as he continues to be the most sought after drummer in the business and recently toured around the world with Sting.

Due to the band’s drummer testing positive for COVID, Sharp Shock won’t be on the bill. Instead, the crowd will be treated to the sights and sounds of LA-based punk favorites, CH3!
Be sure to grab your tickets soon, as the show usually sells out every year. The Vandals’ 26th Annual Christmas Formal will be Saturday, December 18th at the House of Blues in Anaheim.
