A GIMME GIMME CHRISTMAS

ME FIRST & THE GIMME GIMMES

I’ll Be Home For Christmas … Maybe Tour
The Observatory Santa Ana

October 26, 2022 by Kevin Gomez

They are loud, in your face, and they are a guaranteed good time, and they are back to entertain us this Christmas season. Who are these creatures who have an insatiable taste to entertain? It’s Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, and they are coming to the Observatory in Santa Ana!
This larger-than-life mega band consists of musicians from a few different bands. Together they put out some of the best punk rock covers you have ever heard.
We fell in love with this band with their covers “Over The Rainbow,” “Coming to America,” “Rainbow Connection,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” “Uptown Girl,” “Rocket Man,” and “Karma Chameleon.”
These are just some of the epic songs you will hear at a Gimmes show.
In the here and now, The Gimmes just announced a West Coast Christmas tour that will hit us in our own back yard at the Observatory in Santa Ana on December 3rd.

The band is led by Spike Lawson (Swingin’ Utters / Re-Volts), and a few names you may recognize such as CJ Ramone on bass, Jake Kiley on guitar (Strung Out), John Reis on guitar (Rocket from the Crypt), and Andrew “Pinch” Pinching on drums (The Damned).
Depending on when and where you catch them, the lineup may have a few other characters join the ensemble. One thing is certain, no matter who takes the stage, The Gimmes will electrify and entertain you.

This holiday season, a ticket to this show wherever you call home will be the best gift anyone can get. So get your best volcanic colored jacket, velvet pants and creepers and get out to see Me First & The Gimme Gimmes.
