Chicago punk phenomena Alkaline Trio released their 10th studio album last month, “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs.” It had been six years since their last album, so AT fans were beyond the moon with its release.
This 11-track album holds Alkaline Trio’s signature sound of melodic, catchy choruses, dark-brooding lyrics, and memorable hooks that will have you excited to listen to the next song. The title track is already a fan favorite with almost two million hits on Spotify alone.
To celebrate “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs,” the band is going on a month-long North American tour starting in Southern California. AT will kick things off at House of Blues in Anaheim on February 22nd, then head to SOMA in San Diego the following day.
In addition to the new material, fans can expect to hear favorites like “Private Eye,” “Clavicle,” “Fatally Yours,” “Back to Hell,” “This Could Be Love,” “Warbrain,” “Radio,” and “Movin’ Right Along.”
Lending support on the tour will be Drug Church and Worriers. Drug Church describes themselves as “too poppy for the heavy crowd, and too heavy for the poppy crowd,” while Worries claim they are “punk-adjacent indie rock.” These two acts will slip into the playlists of AT fans nicely!
The opening show to a tour is one of the most exciting because you can see the bands fine-tuning their act and enjoying the moment of being onstage with each other again! Tickets are sold out, but fingers-crossed there will be plenty of video and photos on social media for those that didn’t jump on the opportunity to see this great tour.
