That’s Entertainment # 8

Army Of The Dead

June 9, 2021 by Josh Coutts
In our ongoing That’s Entertainment series we take you to Sin City… Las Vegas, Nevada with “Army of the Dead!”
This film is a roller coaster ride from beginning to end. It turned out to be a fun and fantastic horror zombie drama film. There are all sorts of little hidden moments, but you can’t blink or you’ll miss them. Also, check out the UFOs, cyborg zombie’s and a wicked tiger, because they are excellent.
In this Netflix flick, Las Vegas becomes the mecca of zombie central and the government has decided to bomb the Nevada city. I mean, living here in Las Vegas myself, zombies aren’t far off with all the people zoned out on gambling. It’s actually spot on how close to real-life zombies we are!
The action is fantastic and the shots are amazing throughout this movie. I’m a huge Zack Snyder fan and yes, I enjoyed this movie. It’s a an action zombie flick with drama and a solid back story. The cast is absolutely phenomenal and I’m a huge fan of Dave Bautista. The rest of the cast is solid too, with Ella Purnell, Anna de la Reguera, Omari Hardwick, Theo Rossi, Matthias Schweighofer, Nora Arnezeder, Hiroyuki Sanada, Garret Dillahunt, Tig Notaro, and more.
SHOWRUNNER BANNER
As awesome as the cast is, I have to say the real star of the movie is the zombie freaking tiger in the movie. Yes, a zombie tiger that is supposed to be Siegfried and Roy’s tiger. Well, it’s a goddamn zombie and it’s absolutely spectacular and should have its own movie. I want a shirt with it because, damn, it’s awesome!
CGI MAGIC
The gore factor is high and the zombies are fast and creepy, plus  it has ZS slow-motion effect, so if you’re not a fan, well, don’t watch. But if you enjoy a good scare and a good time, enjoy! I’ve watched it twice now and absolutely love it!
And remember, enjoy the movies!
