BAD RELIGION

BAD RELIGION and “What Are We Standing For”
October 14, 2020 by Rachael Contreras
In 2020 there are certain things we can still count on, Bad Religion is one of them. This band always tells it like it is.  No watered down, beat around the bush opinions.
In the wake of important racial events that have taken place in recent past Bad Religion was moved to write a song about those that fight against racial inequality and police brutality.
As they have always done, they’ve put out music that addressed what’s going on in the world today. This song, “What are We Standing for?” was recorded but unreleased for their most recent album Age of Unreason that came out in May of 2019.
Because of current political events they have decided to release it with this statement:

AGE OF UNREASON

“In this time of tribal nationalism, dissent, as a form of political speech, is vital to democracy. ‘What Are We Standing For’ is an outtake from ‘Age of Unreason’. It is one of support and compassion for professional athletes, and others, whom have taken a knee to protest police brutality and racism.”
BAD RELIGION

Bad Religion remains the quintessential punk band we all look towards whenever there is anything going on that impacts our conscience or if it smacks us right in the face. Ask anyone who has seen them live!
