A Bit O’ Bite Me Bambi The St. Paddy’s Stream

Since November, Orange County’s NEXT BIG export to the world of music is a ska band adroitly named Bite Me Bambi. Over the past year they have been keeping their fans happy. They’ve been running a weekly Twitch stream to help those in the music scene who miss live music. The stream is led by singer Tahlena Chikami (Unicorn Injection and Karate in the Garage) and guitarist Brian Mashburn (Starpool and Save Ferris).
Chikami and Mashburn started the stream as a way to keep sharp, and provide an outlet to do live music. What began on a couch with a few followers has grown into a way for the ska scene to hear live music, plus enjoy the hilarious banter of its two hosts. The stream now comes directly from Bite Me Bambi’s practice facility and has become a way for Chikami and Mashburn to give viewers updates on album releases, hints at tours, and even allows for followers to earn perks and early insight into the band’s plans.
Like any popular Twitch stream, the Bite Me Bambi stream has its dedicated group of fans that never miss the stream, even if they are on vacation. The weekly followers have dubbed themselves “The Bambinos” and they add to the fun of the stream. The chat of the stream is filled with inside jokes about Sizzler and John Mulaney quotes. The Bambinos even get into the streams occasional themed shows and will send in pictures of what they are drinking, eating, or wearing for that week’s show.

This week’s show is March 17th at 8 p.m. (Pacific Time) and will be their inaugural St. Patrick’s show. The band announced that it will be taking requests for Irish and Irish-adjacent songs.
The stream promises celebrate the holiday as a group, even while many of us are isolating. As Mashburn and Chikami drink more, the more entertaining the show becomes. If either one makes a mistake, the other will give the command “drink” which includes the audience in a drinking game (make a mistake = take a drink!). There will be other ways to interact and get in on the show, so watch the stream and get ready to get an Uber from your couch.
