Pursuant to certain laws of nature, there are certain things in life that just are. When it comes to the selective order of cool bands, Black Pumas are at the top of the proverbial totem pole, as it should be.
From Austin, Texas, Black Pumas features a dynamic duo of singer / songwriter Eric Burton and guitarist Adrian Quesada. Their soulful quasi-blues-electro sonic journey has catapulted them to stardom. As the US leg of their tour migrates across the country, this Grammy-nominated band is headed to the city of Angels this fall, and a few stops in between.

Confession: The first time I heard “Colors” by Black Pumas, I cried. Eric Burton’s voice is simply perfect with such an amazing intensity. You can tell what an old soul he is, and yet, a modern day legend.
With a voice that is sweet and soulful like Texas barbecue, Burton serves up a savory blend of retro-funk, R&B, and soul. Guitarist Adrian Quesada is the perfect partner in this dynamic duo that has quickly garnered critical acclaim since forming in 2018. “Colors” climbed to number one on AAA radio and has been streamed more than 100 million times. They are the only band to have sold out Austin’s popular music venue Stubb’s for four nights in a row.
Black Pumas are currently on a worldwide tour (which has dates through 2022!), during which they will perform in Southern California on September 23rd at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, and September 24th at Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Festival in Dana Point.
Not to worry if you miss them there, they’ll circle back on December 12th to play Pechanga Arena in San Diego. If you don’t mind running over to Sin City, you can catch them at the House of Blues, Las Vegas on December 18th.
