With the number of tours and album releases going on, it seems like we are back to normal in the music world. Bouncing Souls is adding all that and more and are looking to make 2023 a banner year.
They kicked off the new year by announcing their 12th studio album, “Ten Stories High,” would be coming out March 24th.
Just a few days prior, Punk in the Park announced it would be doing a second, one-day festival for the first time on March 25th. Bouncing Souls (who have the distinct honor of being the only band to play all three Punk in the Parks) will be playing along with Pennywise, Suicidal Tendencies, and a dozen other fantastic punk bands. And last month, the New Jersey quartet took to social media to post about an upcoming North American tour in support of their new release. The tour will run April through May, and then October and December with support alternating with Anti-Flag and Samiam.
With all that excitement, one might imagine that they couldn’t possibly pack anymore shows into their schedule; well, one would be wrong. Last week Bouncing Souls announced they would be playing a trio of shows to celebrate the launch of “Ten Stories High.”
On March 24th and March 25th, they will be playing two acoustic sets at famed pizza restaurant, Pizzanista in downtown Los Angeles. Pizzanista has done previous collaborations with Descendents and I’m hoping there will be similar exclusive merchandise for these shows.
However, the third show is actually the one I am most excited for – a full band electric show at the recently relocated and reopened Knitting Factory in North Hollywood.
I saw a concert there recently and this place is a ridiculously intimate venue for a band of this magnitude. As you can imagine, tickets sold out within hours; no surprise for the high demand these guys bring when they come to town. If you were one of the lucky ones to snag a ticket, you know just how rare and special this evening is going to be. Johnny Madcap and the Distractions will be opening the evening.
“Ten Stories High” is available for pre-order and the first two singles, “Ten Stories High” and “Shannon’s Song,” are streaming on all major platforms.
