The summer of 2022 has us pressing that time machine button and catapulting us back into yesteryear with Culture Club at the Toyota Concert series at the Pacific Amphitheatre.
With an already amazing lineup of bands coming to the OC this summer, including The Offspring, Rebelution, The Psychedelic Furs and X, the new wave and new romantic generation can get their glam on with Boy George and Culture Club on August 18th.
For those not in the know – or maybe they were just ahead of your time – Culture Club is by far the bee’s knees of the ‘80s. With a career spanning over 30 years, the Grammy Award winners broke the culture clash barriers with hit after hit; songs that defined a generation, including “I’ll Tumble 4 Ya,” “Church of the Poison Mind,” “Do You Really Want To Hurt Me,” “Karma Chameleon,” “Miss Me Blind,” “The War Song,” and “It’s a Miracle.”
Front-man Boy George has a successful run of hits himself with “Keep Me in Mind,” “Bow Down Mister,” and “Everything I Own.” Regardless of which era we get, it will be an incredible night of music.
Joining Culture Club is another icon of the ‘80s, Terry Nunn and Berlin. This band also has a string of era-defining songs; “Masquerade,” “Sex (I’m a…),” “The Metro,” “No More Words,” and “Take My Breath Away.” (You know, the “Top Gun” song!)
Whatever your taste in ‘80s music is, this show is destined to be the one for you. Get your leg warmers, Aqua Net, Day-Glo clothes, black leather jackets, and creepers and head out to the Pac Amp this summer!
