After an impressive showing at this weekend’s iHeartRadio ALTer Ego extravaganza, Coldplay now looks to the rest of the world for their upcoming tour. The Music of the Spheres tour – named after their new album – begins in Costa Rica in March and will stop by Southern California April 26th and 30th at SoFi Stadium.
“Music of the Spheres” has been doing well, already nabbing a 2022 Grammy nomination for “Higher Power.” Make sure to check out the other single, “My Universe,” not just the Coldplay version, but the multiple remixes on the Coldplay site.

Chris Martin and company released “Music of the Spheres” in October of 2021 and in December, Martin said they plan to release their last album in 2025. He told Radio 2, “Our last proper record will come out in 2025, and after that I think we will only tour.” He continued, “And maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.” This tracks with his previous comments to NME in which he stated Coldplay would be done with making music when they hit their 12th album. Of course, many musicians have said such things and times change.
Their catalog of the hit parade is impressive to say the least. Some of the songs that define them include, “Yellow,” “The Scientist,” “Fix You,” “Viva la Vida,” “Clocks,” “Every Teardrop is a Waterfall,” and don’t forget that unreal cover of the Beastie’s “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)!”
In the here and now though, look for Coldplay in your area soon. They have not toured since 2017, partially due to COVID, but also to find a way to tour that was as environmentally friendly as possible.
The band has joined with BMW to create a mobile, rechargeable battery to power the shows, and is using biodegradable or reusable materials. The band will also plant one tree for every ticket sold. You can buy tickets to the shows and feel good about helping the planet too!
If anyone can fix a few things in 2022, it is Coldplay. Check them out, especially when they come back to play SoFi!
