After an epic 2022 Cruel World that included Morrissey, Bauhaus, Blondie, Devo, The Psychedelic Furs, Violent Femmes, The English Beat, and Public Image Ltd, Goldenvoice had to aim high for 2023.
They did.
Cruel World returns to Pasadena for 2023 with Siouxsie, Iggy Pop, Billy Idol, Adam Ant, Echo & the Bunnymen, The Human League, Molchat Doma, Gary Numan, Gang of Four, ABC, Boy Harsher, Modern English, Animotion, The Vapors, The Motels, Riki, GVLLOW, Urban Heat, The Soft Moon, Aurat, Twin Tribes, Ela Minus, and Glass Spells.
CRUEL WORLD FEST
Brookside at The Rose Bowl
May 20, 2023
Siouxsie Sioux has not performed in the US in 15 years, and has not performed live in 10. It was previously announced the Siouxsie and the Banshees front-woman would return to the stage by headlining England’s Latitude Festival in July 2023, but today’s announcement puts her return to live performances at Cruel World instead.
Other notables about the lineup include the reunion of Love and Rockets, who have not performed since 2008, and the appearance of Echo & the Bunnymen, who were scheduled to perform Cruel World last year, but had to cancel due to visa issues.
Cruel World is slated for May 20th at Brookside at the Rose Bowl. Tickets go on sale Friday at 12 p.m. and they did sell out last time, so get signed up now at the Cruel World site.
