Deftones have been bringing the heat since 1988. With massive bangers like, “My Own Summer (Shove It)”, “Change(In the House of Flies)”, “Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)”, and “Passenger” it’s no wonder that Deftones fans are beyond bonkers for them.
Deftones had a massive tour scheduled for 2020 like they do every year because they are the band that keeps giving around the world. Unfortunately, due to COVID their tour had to be canceled, which included a show here in Los Angeles at The Greek Theater. Now here is the good news, the world seems to be righting itself finally and we are looking at the beginning of a new, healthy Summer filled with concerts that includes the almighty rescheduled Deftones show at The Greek Theatre on September 17.
If you haven’t been to The Greek Theatre, it’s up in the hills of Griffith Park and has a spectacular nighttime view. The venue is outside with giant screens for the viewing pleasure of the seats in the back, but each seat is a good seat especially when you’re watching Deftones perform.
The last two album to come from Deftones were great pieces of work to add to their catalogue that included, Black Stallion and Ohms. Black Stallion is a take on their huge hit 2000 album, White Pony where they had different artists take each song and remix it in their own way to give it a different sound without changing the integrity of the song that Deftones fans love. It was a great success and an incredible way to look at Deftones from the eyes of other musical artists.
Ohms released in 2020 was a favorable piece with Deftones having their traditional sound come back with heavy guitar and mysterious lyrics. The songs and videos incorporate the sound that Deftones fans have always loved with their dark and meaningful sound.
Deftones have always been a hit and will always put out some of the best rock music around. They are beyond entertaining to see live and if you have the chance to see this show while tickets are still available, you need to take the plunge and check them out. You will not be disappointed! Deftones are scheduled to tour around the world starting in June so be sure to see them while you have the chance!
