In the year 2001, the world was ruled by a song called “Butterfly” from Los Angeles’ Crazy Town. The song was EVERYwhere on the planet! Now we have a remix to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
Crazy Town became one of the “it” bands in those early ‘00s. They found chart success with “Butterfly,” but were unable to replicate that level of success and eventually broke up in 2003. Victims of their own success in many ways. Reformed and now Crazy Town X.
Now, Las Vegas-based rapper Ekoh has created an updated version of “Butterfly.” He threw in his own lyrics to the beat and updated the popular track.
After the song went viral, Ekoh was approached by Seth Binzer(aka Shifty Shellshock) of Crazy Town X. Shifty responded on Instagram with, “I think I need to jump on this remix with a new verse.” That’s exactly what happened – he added to it and the remix just dropped, and damn… it’s fire! That magic that came and went is now back!
For Ekoh, being a local Las Vegas independent artist, he was very surprised the band hit him up not only to give praise, but to be a part of it! Ekoh is one of the hardest working independent hip hop artists out there. He calls his music Heart Hop because everything he raps or sings about is directly from the heart.
Ekoh just got off his first headlining tour and has a little break before he heads back out. Do yourself a favor and pay attention to this artist because he’s a hidden gem and not to be overlooked.
