After spending the summer together for the Summerland Tour, Everclear and Wheatus are going to “keep in touch” by touring the West Coast.
OC Music News was able to catch Summerland in Tennessee and can confirm Everclear, Hoobastank, Living Colour, and Wheatus put on a fantastic show. The bands also showed an incredible camaraderie that made the tour appear like friends on vacation. As the other two bands get back to their previous plans, Everclear and Wheatus have decided to give us some love.
Today Everclear announced: “West Coast, we’re excited to announce that we’ll be hitting the road with our friends from Wheatus this November! Keep an eye out for a pre-sale code tomorrow at 10 a.m. PT.”

OC Music News spoke with Everclear front-man Art Alexakis earlier this year, and he told us he has final choice of which bands to add to the Summerland Tour. Now Wheatus can feel extra special to be chosen by him again. In Alexakis’ words, they are the “weird, wild, wonderful Wheatus.”
Wheatus is marking the 20th anniversary of their big hit “Teenage Dirtbag,” so expect some celebration at these shows. We spoke with front-man and original member Brendan B. Brown before Summerland kicked off and he was ecstatic to be hitting the road with Everclear. “I was watching Everclear on MTV when I was 15, and it was a big deal. It was such a big deal. They were so cool,” he told us. “And now it’s an even bigger deal because I’m going to have to figure out how to not be a fan dork on tour with them! (laughing) Everclear, and Art Alexakis’ songwriting, is something that I’ve been looking up to for damn near 30 years now. It’s long time that I have had these bands in my psyche, it’s just kind of unreal.”
As for Everclear, in addition to giving me my new favorite motto when we spoke (“If it is not fun, I don’t want to do it.” –Art Alexakis), you can expect a loud and rocking performance which should include “Heroin Girl,” “You Make Me Feel Like a Whore,” “Santa Monica,” “Everything to Everyone,” “I Will Buy You a New Life,” “Wonderful,” “AM Radio,” “Father of Mine,” and so many more!
Snag your tickets to see Everclear and Wheatus as they tour in November. You can catch them near us at Teragram Ballroom in L.A. on November 16th and The Grove in Anaheim on November 18th.
