Orange County has spawned a plethora of bands, Social Distortion, Reel Big Fish, No Doubt, Lit, Zebrahead, The Aquabats, Save Ferris, Young the Giant, the list goes on and on. There are two more OC legends that are coming home. They are playing a free show in November: The bands are… Face to Face and Guttermouth.
Face to Face is best known for their mega radio hit “Disconnected,” originally off their 1992 album, “Don’t Turn Away.” But this song found even greater success when it was rereleased on their 1995 album, “Big Choice.” It continues to be recognized as the introduction to punk from many Gen Xers. Other hits followed, “Don’t Change” (INXS Cover), and “It’s Not All About You,” but “Disconnected” has always been the fan favorite.
Guttermouth put the “gutter” in gutter punk while not straying from the meaning of their name in their songs. Best known for their kooky lyrics and unusual song topics, only to be topped by the band’s live performances, and front-man Mark Adkins’ crazy-eyed facial expressions and banter with the crowd.
Now is your chance to see Face to Face and Guttermouth along with Voodoo Glow Skulls for free at The Observatory in Sana Ana on November 8th.
This is massive news! Not only because it is free thanks to the fine people at Imperium Rags Clothing. But also, two of the three bands will be gracing the stage of Punk in the Park the previous weekend and tickets are extremely low. This will give you a chance to see them if you can’t make it to PITP, or you can see them a second time if you so choose. And again, it’s free so you can’t beat that!
But here is the icing on the punk cake; this show is in the Constellation Room of The Observatory in Santa Ana. This will be a smaller, more intimate show like never before. Each one of these three bands is a punk icon on their own, but seeing all three in such an intimate setting will be like no show you’ve ever attended.
To get yourself into this show, you must follow the instructions from Imperium Rags website and email for your chance to grab a free ticket. This is limited to the first 400 people that sign up via e-mail before October 21st, so don’t wait on this. A little birdy told us they hadn’t hit their 400 as of yet, so don’t wait on this. Also, the first 100 people in line (of those 400 that receive the free tickets) will get some free swag from the clothing company!
