Northern California’s Get Dead have kicked off 2022 by doing a short tour for the West Coast concluding in Southern California this weekend.

The San Francisco band had already made some buzz with previous albums, but they really caught the attention of critics and fans alike with their 2020 release, “Dancing with the Curse.”
The album ended up on several top 10 lists for 2020; however the band never really got much of an opportunity to tour in support of the record due to COVID. Finally, when things started opening up last year, they were able to play some shows and even squeezed in a few festivals. For me, they were one of the highlights of both days at Punk in the Park back in September.
While primarily a punk band on their first releases, “Dancing with the Curse” saw Get Dead experimenting with a more reggae vibe. The opening track, “Disruption,” has a Clash vibe to it – think “Guns of Brixton.” Fat Wrex did good with this signing!

Get Dead will hit Alex’s Bar in Long Beach on Friday, Brick by Brick in San Diego on Saturday, and conclude the jaunt at 1720 in Los Angeles, Sunday evening. East Coast hip-hop artist Ceschi will support this weekend’s shows, with a local band from each city serving as openers.
