Fresh off the exuberance of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in October, the most successful all-female band of all-time, the Go-Go’s, are ready to embark on a five-show winter tour.
The tour starts December 28th in San Francisco, then stops in Los Angeles December 29th, has two dates in Las Vegas on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, and then a tour finale in San Diego on January 3.
Go Go’s Beauty and the Beat
It was 40 years ago that The Go-Go’s emerged from the gritty L.A. punk scene and released their landmark album “Beauty and the Beat.” With mega hits “Our Lips Are Sealed” and “We Got the Beat,” the double-platinum album propelled the band to become the first and only all-female group who wrote their own songs and played their own instruments to achieve a number one album on the Billboard charts.
The pandemic has twice postponed the group’s planned summer tours (2020 and 2021), so this short winter tour is the first chance to see the sassy-fun power-pop-punk band in concert in over three years. Despite the challenges, the Go-Go’s found the magic yet again with their latest hit “Club Zero.”
The Go-Go’s have also announced that they will be touring with Billy Idol on a UK tour in June 2022, giving British fans their first chance to see the group in 26 years. Unless you feel like traveling overseas, your chance to see the amazing Belinda Carlisle, Jane Wiedlin, Charlotte Caffey, Kathy Valentine, and Gina Schock perform live in concert is this December and early January!
