JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION

THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT # 9

Jurassic World: Dominion

June 24, 2022 by Josh Coutts

In our ongoing That’s Entertainment series, we look back to the Jurassic and leap forward to 2022 with the final film of the “Jurassic World” series.
I had the pleasure of taking my daughter to “Jurassic World: Dominion” because she and I are dinosaur nuts and we both got really excited when we saw a trailer for it.
They have brought back some of our favorite characters from the original “Jurassic Park,” and managed to have characters from all three “Jurassic World” movies; bridging the gap of “Jurassic” films for almost 30 years; all six films in the franchise.
The movie was very entertaining; more dinos, explosions, and just plain fun. My daughter and I had a blast watching this film and it proved summer movie season is officially here.
In great news, we have the return of classic cast members Sam Neill (Alan Grant), Laura Dern (Ellie Sattler), Jeff Goldblum (Ian Malcolm), and BD Wong (Dr. Henry Wu).
Returning “Jurassic World” cast members Chris Pratt (Owen Grady), Bryce Dallas Howard (Claire Dearing), Isabella Sermon (Maisie Lockwood), Daniella Pineda (Zia Rodrigues), Justice Smith (Franklin Webb), and Omar Sy (Barry).
This film also had new cast members, DeWanda Wise (Kayla Watts) and Mamoudou Athie (Ramsay Cole). You’ll enjoy a wonderful conclusion to the JP series.
Seriously, I highly recommend you see this film in the theater as it was intended. The full experience is needed to truly appreciate the grand spectacle and vision of the filmmakers.
To set this one up for you, it takes place four years after “Fallen Kingdom” and the dinosaurs are living alongside humans, which is ruining the environment and is not the safest situation for humans.
The irony about this film is we focus on the dinosaurs, but the creatures who are stuck in time really are the humans. Their behaviors remains timeless. Some have selfish intentions, while others are selfless in the face of adversity, while others search for a redemption that has eluded them. How this one ends, well… you will have to just check out this film and see!
This truly is a great movie and you should definitely catch it! Have a great time and remember to enjoy the movies!
