KLOS & St. Jude Get Huge Boost

From Listeners

March 15, 2021 by Traci Turner
Thanks to the loyal listeners of 95.5 KLOS, the 4th annual St. Jude Rocks Radiothon raised more than $880,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital! The money raised will support St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in their We Won’t Stop movement to find cures and save children.
Meruelo Media, KLOS, and St. Jude hosted the two-day event in February and it included participation from Gene Simmons, Metallica, Dirty Honey, and Daughtry. KLOS sister stations Power 106, 93.5 KDAY, and the new Cali 93.9 also encouraged their listeners to donate. Personalities asked fans to make a monthly commitment as a Partner in Hope and receive a We Won’t Stop t-shirt and custom KLOS St. Jude Rocks t-shirt and post photos on social media with #StJudeWontStop.
The listeners, talent and staff of KLOS and our Meruelo Media sister stations stepped up in a huge way to support the mission of St. Jude and raise nearly $900,000 in the middle of a pandemic, in just 26 broadcast hours,” said Program Director for 95.5 KLOS, Keith Cunningham. “We would also like to thank Metallica, Dirty Honey and Daughtry for being a part of the KLOS St. Jude Rocks Valentine’s Day Virtual Festival.

Angela Northrup, Regional Executive Director for ALSAC, the fundraising and awareness organization for St. Jude was also pleased with the results. “During these difficult times, cancer doesn’t stop, and neither will St. Jude. That’s why St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is so grateful for the support of KLOS and the entire Meruelo Media family for their continued commitment to our mission.” She continued, “St. Jude Partners in Hope, who are donors that give monthly, help us ensure that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.”
If you missed the Radiothon, you can still participate and help save the lives of children. To join the We Won’t Stop movement and receive the t-shirt:
