Lit is here to start your week off right with a brand new single titled “Yeah Yeah Yeah!” The band that gave us the mega hit “My Own Worst Enemy” is back with an energetic track sure to put you in a good mood.
With a 1999 sound and 2021 attitude, “Yeah Yeah Yeah” is a reminder of why Lit was part of our required music in the late ‘90s/early ‘00s.
“My Own Worst Enemy” introduced music fans to the SoCal band fronted by Ajay Popoff, with his brother Jeremy on lead guitar, and bassist Kevin Baldes.
The band was EVERYWHERE with that song, including the top of the Billboard charts for 11 weeks. Now 21 years old, “My Own Worst Enemy” has just been certified double platinum, and recently got an extra boost from cover versions by Kelly Clarkson and Jimmy Fallon.
With this new track, Ajay states, “When we started firing up to write the new Lit material, we wanted to try and get our heads in that space we had landed in during the late ‘90s and early 2000s.We not only got back to our old school roots, but also found a good marriage between the classic sound of 1999 with a modern production vibe.”
Jeremy adds, “When you’re listening to Lit, I hope you get to escape from the world for a little bit. We hope you feel like, ‘Damn. In the middle of the shit storm that was 2020 and 2021, these guys managed to dial it back to a more innocent time.’”
Lit has been on the road, but also working on a new album for spring 2022 release. They have made plans to tour the UK with Bowling For Soup and US dates will be announced very soon.
For the locals, Lit will be playing the OC Boo Ha Ha on Friday, October 29th!
Lit will be playing with long-time friends MEST and starting off the night Handsome Devil.
Head on out to the OC Event Center for a great weekend of Halloween fun, starting off with Lit!
