Live & UnZoomed

REO SPEEDWAGON, STYX & LOVERBOY

June 30, 2022 by Holly Jones
It’s been a minute since we last saw REO Speedwagon at the Grove of Anaheim, and it was more of an acoustic set due to COVID-related issues. But fear not, the Wheel is back and they are bringing along Styx and Loverboy. Dubbed the Live and UnZoomed Tour, their legions of fans can’t wait to see the triad of coolness. It’s time to get out and enjoy life with bands that optimize fun!

Recently, REO’s Kevin Cronin said, “Tommy (Shaw) and I have done a number of Zoom performances together during the pandemic, and REO and Styx are ready to go get UnZoomed, and out on the road for our fifth U.S. tour together. Add our great friends Mike Reno and the Loverboy guys, and I am totally psyched. If I wasn’t performing in it, I would totally come out to see this show. See you all, LIVE and UNZOOMED!”

For those not in the know, REO Speedwagon has an amazing catalog of music, and their hits span multiple generations. Get ready for “Can’t Fight This Feeling,” “Don’t Let Him Go,” “In Your Letter,” “Keep on Loving You,” and “Take It on the Run.”
In the other camp, Styx’s Tommy Shaw said, “I can’t think of a better way of touring than with good friends we’ve known for years and performed with on many a stage. What a great night of music this will be!”
Their catalog is just as impressive with life-defining songs “Mr. Roboto,” “Too Much Time on My Hands,” “The Best of Times,” “Babe,” “Lady,” “Come Sail Away,” and “Renegade.”
Not to be outdone, Loverboy’s Mike Reno said, “We can’t wait to take the stage and rock this summer, it’s gonna be awesome. These are all the groups I grew up with, and I’m there too. Best tour of the summer…guaranteed.”
Anyone who is of the right age can’t forget that signature song we all grew up to: “Working for the Weekend.” Along with this mega-hit, fans continued to scream for “Turn Me Loose,” “When It’s Over” and “This Could Be the Night.”
In SoCal, it goes down July 16th at FivePoint Amphitheatre and REO Speedwagon closes the night. This is going to be an epic night for music in the OC, so I highly recommend you get tickets before this one is sold out! Yeah, it is that good of a show!
