After more than a year of delays and cancellations, the British ska band Madness has settled on touring the USA.
Unfortunately fans will have to wait one more year before the festivities reach their home town. The delay will ensure that the band, venues, and eventual crowds will have time to improve Covid protocols, and allow hospital cases to drop to more manageable numbers. With both the US and England easing protocols on shopping and sports venues, concerts remain one aspect of entertainment where it will take a bit more time to make sure they are done safely.
They’ll hit the southland on May 28th with a stop at the Greek Theater with American Ska Royalty the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.
To ease the pain of this delay, Madness will reach out to their fans safely through a streaming concert. Madness will keep sharp for 2022 with their global livestream, “The Get Up” on Friday May 14th direct from the London Palladium. Madness will be joined by special guests and the show will be available in different time zones to make it more convenient for everyone around the globe.
In addition to next year’s tour and the live stream, Madness and AMC have announced a three-part documentary titled, “Before We Was We: Madness by Madness.” The documentary will premiere on May 1st on AMC and YouTube.
The documentary will include interviews and stories from the members of Madness, and will show previously unreleased pictures and videos of the start of Madness and their journey towards stardom.
It doesn’t seem like anything can or will slow down Madness, including a pandemic. Hold on tight as Madness goes One Step and Beyond!
