Gimme a Punk Rock Livestream Christmas
with Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
December 5, 2020 by Traci Turner
It’s true, they believe they can fly, they’ve come to America on a Jet Plane and it’s even their First Noel! These insatiable creatures who have a passion for the flare and punk rock are here to save Christmas! Who am I talking about? It’s Me First and the Gimme Gimmes of course.
The annual Gimme Gimme Holiday Spectacular IS happening and no matter where you are, you can enjoy the event in all its glory.
The arrival of Gimme Gimme TV! means you can catch the band in their only 2020 appearance.
The popular cover band promises a variety show event like no other. The Gimmes and Dino & Luigi Presents have packed this event with solid entertainment.
With all these characters behind the curtain, this will be a show we won’t forget any time soon.

The Livestream event will of course be a Christmas spectacular, but with special guests like Shannon Shaw (Shannon and the Clams), Karina Denike (Dance Hall Crashers/NOFX), your host, Belly Reynolds, and more.
THE GIMMES TAKE US OVER THE RAINBOW
PEARLS of WISDOM
“Life’s too short, you have to get weird. If you don’t get weird, you’re weird.”
FAT MIKE | NOFX & The Gimmes

Formed in San Francisco in 1995, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes gives you punk versions of songs based on a theme each album: ‘60s-‘80s classics, contemporary R&B, pop music, and other popular songs. The rock supergroup core lineup remains steady, but does fluctuate throughout the year depending on the tour schedule for each band member.
The Gimmes typically feature Spike Slawson (Swingin’ Utters and Re-Volts), Fat Mike (NOFX), Joey Cape (Lagwagon), and Dave Raun (Lagwagon).
The band has entertained us for years with some of our favorite covers (GIMME style). Songs that have been a part of the sound track of our lives. Songs like “Over The Rainbow” (Judy Garland), “I Believe I Can Fly” (R. Kelly), “Rocket Man” (Elton John), “Sloop John B.” (Beach Boys), “Wild World” (Cat Stevens), “Rainbow Connection” (Kermit the Frog), “Nothing Compares 2U” (Sinead O’Connor), “Karma Chameleon” (Culture Club), “Leaving on a Jet Plane” (John Denver), “Sweet Caroline” & “Coming to America” (Neil Diamond), “Uptown Girl” (Billy Joel), “Generator” (Bad Religion) and yes, even the Christmas classic, “Santa Baby.”
This is just a sample SOME of their great covers this band does that not only electrifies, but they entertain us and they’ll bring a smile to your face with their weird and off the wall brand of humor. There’s a good chance they’ll play some of these tunes for you.
Catch the Me First and the Gimme Gimmes livestream Saturday, December 12 at 6 pm (PST).
You can even re-watch the show until December 14. As if that wasn’t amazing enough, they have special holiday merch for you. When you place your ticket order, grab an exclusive tee, ornament, or poster (or all three!).
