Three-time Grammy Award winning rapper. College Student. Collector of “Hotties.” “Thee Hottest” act at Lollapalooza 2021. That’s a lot of titles for one person, but Megan Thee Stallion has earned them.
She is everywhere; blowing up your socials, dominating streaming playlists, and sweeping award shows. However you know Megan Thee Stallion – whether it be from her highly-successful rap career; her Coach X BAPE collab that’s blowing up Instagram (#HotDogMomsUNITE!); her explosive music videos; her incredible philanthropic efforts in providing generous scholarships for women of color through the Don’t Stop Scholarship Fund; supporting her hometown of Houston’s food banks during the holidays … I’m out of breath – this is just a fraction of all she does. When you see someone as incredible as Megan Thee Stallion, it’s hard NOT to talk about her, and the ones who are the loudest are her followers, affectionately nicknamed by Thee Stallion as “Hotties.”
Megan’s approachable and kind nature to her fans is more than endearing. She recently tweeted that she wanted them to be present at her college graduation. A current college student herself at 26 years old, Megan uses her social platforms to announce to the world that anyone can chase a dream and their education at the same time and she is not afraid to be a living example. “I still have academic goals that I want to achieve, so if I can use my resources to open doors and create opportunities for at least one student, then it’s a victory,” she commented in a press statement.

The daughter of rapper “Holly-Wood,” Megan was exposed to the industry at a young age and knew rap was her forever vocation, however, her mom knew the importance of a good education and wanted her to put her rap dreams on hold until she was 21. Megan attended community colleges while she worked on her rap skills and education simultaneously until she went viral in a rap battle, completely crushing her male opponents.
At this moment, she knew a career in rap was imminent and released her first single “Like a Stallion” just three years later. By 2018, she was signed with independent record label 1501 Certified Entertainment and by 2019, Megan hit Billboard’s Hot 100 and was placed on Time Magazine’s “Time 100 Next” list.
All of this of course is very impressive, but when you’re someone as cool as Megan Thee Stallion you never stop. When she said “2021, finna graduate college” in her single “Thot Shit,” she absolutely meant it. She enrolled full time with Texas Southern University and is currently pursuing a degree in health care administration. When she graduates this fall, she plans to use her degree to improve assisted living facilities in her hometown.
Fortunately, we can enjoy her rap skills during her summer break as she performs at many popular festivals: Rolling Loud, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Made in America, BottleRock, Summerfest, Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and more.
