Three years after the release of her masterpiece album “Be the Cowboy,” Mitski is back with a brand new record dropping February 4th. “Laurel Hell” will be supported by a fully sold-out US tour which begins in Asheville, NC and marks the return of the artist who has been on a hiatus since 2019.
“Laurel Hell” is Mitski’s sixth studio album and will follow up the success of her gold-certified song “Nobody.” This past October, she released the first new single, “Working for the Knife,” and it shot up the Billboard charts, helped along by a video directed by Zia Anger and filmed at The Egg in Albany.
In November, a second single was dropped entitled “The Only Heartbreaker.” The song was accompanied by an out-of-this-world music video directed by Maegan Houang and Jeff Desom.
On January 12th, we were blessed to receive a third single when “Love Me More” was released with a video directed by Christopher Good.
When discussing the new album, Mitski wrote, “I needed love songs about real relationships that are not power struggles to be won or lost. I needed songs that could help me forgive both others and myself. I make mistakes all the time. I don’t want to put on a front where I’m a role model, but I’m also not a bad person. I needed to create this space mostly for myself where I sat in that gray area.”

Now we just have to wait a few days for the full album and CA music fans can see the tour when it stops in Los Angeles on March 3rd. The North American tour will be immediately followed by a European leg which runs through May.
