During the last several weeks, we’ve asked our readers to tell us what shows they are watching to keep entertained. Overwhelmingly, the number one media service provider that came up was NETFLIX. Dark is a German drama about time travel and confused teenagers. But if you were constructing a course about its themes, Item 1 on the syllabus would be the variable concepts of responsibility and free will; Item 1a would be multigenerational trauma. I guess I no longer need to describe Dark as grim—central to the plot is the unexplainable disappearance of two young boys in the small town of Winden—but the show’s preoccupation is whether or not we’re doomed to repeat past mistakes.

A hotheaded widow searching for the hit-and-run driver who mowed down her husband befriends an eccentric optimist who isn’t quite what she seems.The story takes place in the affluent seaside town of Laguna Beach, California. The storyline has many twists. The leading role is held by Christina Applegate. It just may be some of her best work ever.

A budding teen psychopath and a rebel hungry for adventure embark on a star-crossed road trip in this darkly comic series based on a graphic novel.A dark comedy that makes you feel for the characters.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK
Jason Bateman stars as a financial adviser Marty Byrd who drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks, where he must launder million in five years to appease a drug boss.Laura Linney plays Wendy Byrd and in the end is just as scary as the drug lords. The plot is well conceived and is graphic and scary. Great cast, the series will suck you in.

Magic and mischief collide as half-human, half-witch Sabrina navigates between two worlds: mortal teen life and her family’s legacy, the Church of Night.
When a young boy vanishes, a small town uncovers a mystery involving secret experiments, terrifying supernatural forces and one strange little girl.We all go for a ride to the Upside Down, and it’s a journey filled with every twist imaginable, lots of parallels to classics like Lost Boys, Stand By Me, IT and the Goonies. Great cast; it’s dark and funny… well written and this one too will suck you in.
“We’re not in Hawkins anymore” STRANGER THINGS has been renewed for a fourth season as part of a multi-year film and television deal with co-creators and showrunners, the Duffer Brothers.

A zoo owner spirals out of control amid a cast of eccentric characters in this true murder-for-hire story from the underworld of big cat breeding.Bizarre, freaky and weird are words that have been used to describe the series, but honestly… those words don’t do it justice.The life and times of Joe Exotic and his epic struggles with sanity a fight with Carole Baskin is as cartoon-crazy as it gets. You have to see this one to get the hype.
UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT
A Hasidic Jewish woman in Brooklyn flees to Berlin from an arranged marriage and is taken in by a group of musicians; until her past comes calling.The series is well cast, the settings and dialog are as authentic as you can ever get for this type of film, a definite must see.

There are a ton of great shows on NETFLIX, some didn’t make this list. Truth is, no matter what you check out on this list, we’re sure what you pick will make you think, smile, smirk, laugh, frighten you or straight up creep you out!
