NEW FOUND GLORY

Acoustic

at Garden Amp

November 23, 2022 by Tim Markel
Coming to The Garden Amp in February, it’s New Found Glory, however not in their usual form. Fresh off the long-awaited Emo’s Not Dead Cruise, New Found Glory has just announced their 2023 “Make the Most of It” acoustic tour, which coincides with the release of an acoustic album with the same name.
Kicking the tour off in St. Louis on January 28th, the 22 show tour will take them all across the country before ending in their home state of Florida on March 23rd. Their OC show will take place on February 3rd and 4th.

While most of the venues on this tour are theaters and larger capacity (seated) settings, Orange County will get a more intimate performance at Garden Grove’s 530-capacity venue, The Garden Amp. With its amazing sound and a constant stream of great shows, The Garden Amp has not only gained notoriety with thousands of OC concertgoers over recent years, but has also become a band-favorite location to perform smaller, intimate, outdoor shows.
NFG’s new album features seven brand new songs along with seven “reimagined” previously released tunes such as “My Friends Over You” and “Hit or Miss.” Though the band may deviate from the track listing of the acoustic album for this tour, I think it is likely that we will hear most, if not all, of the songs from “Make the Most of It,” including “Understatement,” “All Downhill,” or 2000’s crowd favorite “Dressed To Kill.”
Though a lot of New Found Glory’s appeal for me comes in the form of aggressiveness and high-energy live shows, much of the band’s material translates extremely well to acoustic. Videos of the band performing acoustically have been circulating on YouTube for years, however it’s not every day that you get a chance to see the band performing acoustic in person.
The band recently released their first acoustic single off the new album titled “Dream Born Again” and it is delightfully catchy. “Dream Born Again” stands just as strong amongst any of New Found Glory’s full-band material (and frankly sounds to me like it was originally intended to be full-band).
Opening on this tour is singer/songwriter Leanna Firestone who has accumulated quite the following in her own right. With over 700,000 followers across her social media accounts, and over a million views on YouTube, Firestone is sure to have her built-in fan base showing up to support across all dates on the tour.
