They’re loud, electric, mad, bad and dangerous to know. So who are these Warped Tour Veterans that everyone loves to see live? It’s New Found Glory!
In the year that evolved into the summer of bummer, NFG is set to make us all smile. It’s been 20 years since New Found Glory first hit the scene. Now, they’ll be performing their self-titled album in its entirety and they’ll re-issue the LP on vinyl.
With ten studio albums, one live album, two EPs, and four cover albums under their belt, they’ll have plenty of music to showcase during the livestream.
New Found Glory is considered by critics as part of the second wave of pop punk that occurred in the 1990s, and a major pioneer of the genre. The band has also been labeled as “the godfathers of pop-punk.” Their catchy pop-infused harmonies with strong, aggressive breakdowns in the music is characterized as “easycore.”
The masses fell in love with their sound immediately. Songs like “Listen to Your Friends,” “All Downhill from Here,” “Hit or Miss,” “My Friends Over You,” “Vicious Love,” “Sincerely Me,” “Tangled Up,” “Tangled Up,” “Truth of My Youth,” “Hold My Hand” and “Anthem for the Unwanted.” The list goes and and on… these songs continued to be songs their fans scream for at their shows.
In addition to their original music, fans dig their covers. Songs like “Eye of the Tiger,” “Power of Love,” “Crazy for Love,” “Don’t You (Forget About Me),” “It Ain’t Me, Babe,” “The Promise,” and “Blitzkrieg Bop” among many others. The list of covers alone is unreal. These cover songs were always fan favorites at The Warped Tour.
The band is high-energy and pounds out a blood curling sonic blast. The lineup includes Jordan Pundik (lead vocals & rhythm guitar), Ian Grushka (bass & backing vocals), Chad Gilbert (lead guitar and backing vocals), and Cyrus Bolooki brings it home (drums, percussion, and acoustic guitar).
That all being said, their eponymous album is having its 20-Year Anniversary and the guys are celebrating with a Livestream show.
The mega event will air Saturday, September 26th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. (CDT).
As time goes by, things get fuzzy. One thing you’ll never forget is the first time you heard your favorite band. For so many of us, that’s New Found Glory.
