Foo Fighters fans woke to an exciting email in their inboxes this morning: a new song and the announcement of a forthcoming album.
The band has been announcing headline shows for a few months now, but excitement escalated on April 12th when the band’s social media posted a white screen with “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” shown in light lettering and a small snippet of music. Yesterday, a similar post appeared with additional words and more music. Now, we have the full story behind the posts.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” comes from the band’s new song, “Rescued,” which is now available for your listening pleasure. The song is from the upcoming Foo album, “But Here We Are,” due out June 2nd. This will be their first new album since 2021’s “Medicine at Midnight.”
The band said, “But Here We Are” is a “brutally honest and emotionally raw response to everything Foo Fighters endured over the last year.” “But Here We Are” is the band’s first new album since the passing of longtime drummer Taylor Hawkins. They have not announced who is drumming on the new album or the upcoming shows.
