Longtime musical partners Nick Cave and Warren Ellis will tour the United States early next year in support of their collaborative masterpiece “Carnage.” The tour will start on March 1st in Asheville, NC, and will run for 14 US dates before concluding in Canada.
On his website, Nick Cave wrote: “Playing these concerts is pure happiness, more than I have experienced in a very long time. I cannot tell you what it means to Warren and me to walk out on stage and perform the songs.”

While they have been collaborating since the 1990s when multi-instrumentalist Ellis joined Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds on the album “Let Love In,” this will be the first time they tour the US as a duo. Their years together have had them scoring movies and creating music for Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, but when lockdowns took over in 2020, the duo began jamming and “Carnage” was born.
The album was released in February of this year and it is truly a masterful balance of despair and hope. It sums up a very human journey through life’s hardships and joys, accompanied by beautiful and haunting melodies that are able to turn each word and feeling into notes. You can listen to “Carnage” through the link below, or just get a sample by checking out my two favorite tunes from the album: “Shattered Ground” and “White Elephant.”
The lockdown also gave them time to work on a Bad Seeds rarities album, and in October, “B-Sides & Rarities (Part II)” dropped. Once this joint tour is complete, the duo will regroup with the other members of the Bad Seeds and tour Europe through the summer.
Tickets are on sale now, plus there are VIP packages that include special merchandise. Concertgoers will need to comply with all COVID requirements as listed by each venue.
The tour will hit Southern California on March 9, 2022 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. Don’t wait, get your tickets now!
