The kids are headed back to school, which means fall is here and the scary season is upon us. The only way to celebrate it with our favorite Halloween band: Oingo Boingo Former Members! Ok, to be fair, they are also our favorite band on other holidays too…
The “Dead Man’s Party” rockers will bring an evening of all things Boingo to City National Grove in Anaheim with The Tubes and Dramarama joining them for the celebration. Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the October 22nd event and you know they will sell quicker than quick.
Oingo Boingo Former Members will surely play classics like “Only a Lad,” “No One Lives Forever,” “Weird Science,” “Sweat,” “Just Another Day,” and “Who Do You Want to Be.” As always, leading the way by pounding on the drum kit is Mr. Johnny “Vatos” Hernandez, along with original members Sam “Sluggo” Phipps, Carl Graves, Steve Bartek, and John Avila, joined by Brendan McKian, Mike Glendinning, Freddy Hernandez, and Brian Swartz.
Recently Vatos debuted new OBFM music on KXFM’s TNN Radio with OCMN’s Jimmy Alvarez and Rachael Contreras. The band’s upcoming CD will feature refreshed versions of the classics, plus some new material. Fresh classic singles are now available!
OBFM has a full calendar of events to celebrate the spooky season, but for this one, you get extra! Along for the ride are The Tubes, world-renowned for the massive hit “She’s a Beauty,” a staple of MTV in the ‘80s. And another one of our favorites, Dramarama is on the bill, sure to give us “Anything, Anything.”
Other shows you may want to consider checking out include The Canyon in Agoura Hills on October 27th, then on October 28th you can catch them down south in San Diego at Humphrey’s by the Bay.
Another show recently added, you can catch them on October 29th at the Seaside Lagoon in Redondo Beach with Dramarama and The English Beat.
Then comes the Halloween extravaganza in the OC at The Coach House on the 31st!
