Last week we told you Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) would be headed to the US for a full tour. Now we can tell you the specifics…
OMD co-founder Paul Humphreys alerted us to the upcoming US dates and said it would start in Canada and the West Coast. “It’s a very extensive American tour, so we’ll be going all over,” Humphreys told us. “I’m really looking forward to it. We do love touring America. There’s something about the American audiences that we’ve always loved. I mean, we’re all very excited about it.”
The English duo of Humphreys and Andy McCluskey are making their way across Europe now – with more than 40 dates sold out! – before hopping across the pond.
Their US leg will kick off in September and includes two nights at The Greek in Los Angeles (September 20th sold out, so they added September 19th), before heading to San Diego on September 21st for a performance at Balboa Theatre. The jaunt takes OMD through many of the top cities, including Denver, Austin, Chicago, New York, Boston and Atlanta, and ends October 20th in Florida.
OMD is touring in support of their 2023 album, “Bauhaus Staircase,” an impressive record of work that blends their classic sound with fresh energy and futuristic melodies. In fact, McCluskey has stated, “I’m very happy with what we’ve done on this record. I’m comfortable if this is OMD’s last statement.”
They will of course bring the classics we love too, including “Messages,” “Secret,” “If You Leave,” “Enola Gay,” “Locomotion,” “Electricity,” and “So In Love.”
Walt Disco is lending support on the entire tour.
Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. local time and we fully expect many sell out, so do not delay!
