They just announced a small tour – that sold out super quick – and now they are giving us brand spankin’ new music. Pixies are back with a single and video titled “Human Crime.” The new single from Black Francis, Joey Santiago, David Lovering, and Paz Lenchantin – who also directed the new video! – is a digital-exclusive release and their first new song since 2020.
Filmed in the Los Angeles area at the San Pedro abandoned bunkers and Gold Diggers Bar in Santa Monica, the music video is visually appealing, very colorful, and “gives the viewer a glimpse into a nether world of fairies, situated just around that next corner, parallel to our dimension, rarely seen or experienced.”
Lenchantin explains, “The storyline is loosely based on an ‘inside joke’ between Charles and I about going on tour. How we go through a door from our reality state into the altered state of becoming and being a Pixie.”
The band has been off the road since the pandemic kicked them home, but they are ready to embark on a world tour. In addition to the previously announced SoCal shows – which all sold out – the band will tour the U.K. and Europe through the summer.

In true Pixies fashion, the band will make each show unique by drawing from the 100+ songs from their catalogue to “play whatever they want, whenever they want, in whatever order they want.” You may get “Where Is My Mind?,” or “Here Comes Your Man,” or “Monkey Gone to Heaven,” or “Dig for Fire.” Maybe you’ll get all of them… there’s no telling!
Watch the “Human Crime” and send “tour North America” vibes now! If you are one of the lucky who scored tickets to the sold out Anaheim show, ENJOY!
