ORANGE, CALIFORNIA | OC MUSIC NEWS, an Orange County-based music news magazine today announced that Jordan West, a California-based columnist and photographer will be joining the national press team.
West is an established and gifted writer, journalist, broadcaster, photographer and musician. He has covered just about every aspect of the music business in over 40 years in Southern California.
West started out as a club DJ in Orange County and Long Beach in the ’80s, he landed with the legendary metal station KNAC.com as on-air personality. West goes by “The Junkman.”
While at KNAC.com he was exposed to unlimited access to the biggest and best stars of the Heavy Metal genre, and became well-known for his insight during his broadcasts, and as an in-demand interviewer. Over the years, he has developed into an accomplished media professional.
Along with OC Music News, his work has been published in books, and several rock websites, including Vintagerock.com and Spin Magazine.
He is also an in-demand MC for events, including 20 years as the host of “Metal Jam” a yearly Autism Awareness Event that has raised thousands of dollars for research and benefits the Center for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders affiliated with UC Irvine. Jordan is also a licensed reverend and has presided over dozens of happy marriages.
Jordan is a 40 year resident of Huntington Beach, California, and enjoys spending free time attending live music events with his rock singer, fiancé Jenny.
