ORANGE, CALIFORNIA | OC MUSIC NEWS, an Orange County-based music news magazine today announced that Kevin Gomez, a California-based columnist will be joining the national press team.
Kevin is an gifted writer and accomplished columnist. He was born and raised in Southern California. He gravitated to the OC music scene in the 90s where he was exposed to an explosion of punk and ska music. That experience heavily influenced his music taste and life.
Gomez attended UC Irvine as an undergraduate where he discovered a talent for writing. He once wrote an entire psychology thesis paper on the tendency for punk concerts and mosh pits to be male-driven, and why that is. He continued to pursue various writing courses while attending Whittier School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in 2009.
With a well-centered balance of live showcases under his belt, and a JD, Gomez developed an affinity for memorializing his sonic adventures in punk, grunge, Motown, and hip-hop. Over the years, Gomez has attended hundreds of live concerts and festivals. Before joining OC Music News, he wrote album and concert reviews for a variety of websites and ‘zines.
