Thanksgiving is usually a time of reflection on what you have to be thankful for. While some have more to be thankful for than others, one thing is certain: being thankful for food on the table is usually first on the list. For some, food is a luxury that isn’t necessarily as obtainable as just going to the grocery story. This is where Punk Rock Food Drive comes in.
Every year a large group of punkers get together in North San Diego to raise money, collect food donations, and spread food insecurity awareness.
On November 11th, you can join some of your favorite punkers for a great cause by giving back to the community. The 15th Annual Thanksgiving Punk Rock Food Drive is happening at Belching Beaver Brewery in Oceanside. You can catch great punk musical acts, raffles, auctions, vendors, tasty beverages, and so much more, all while benefiting the North County Food Bank, a Division of the San Diego Food Bank.
Headlining this low-cost, family entertainment is Bad Cop Bad Cop, Failing Up, Corporate Citizen, Fine Dining, F+, Parade of Horribles, Failing Idiot, and an after party with Generator.
In anticipation of this year’s event, the organizers said, “Since our first show in 2009, Punk Rock Food Drive has raised over 246,000 meals. That’s enough to feed a family of four for over 50 years! While that may seem like a lot of food we can always raise more.”
This all-ages event is 1 – 9 p.m. and requires tickets, so be sure to grab yours today!
